The Good Neighbor Day Festival, an annual celebration of National Good Neighbor Day and of Nashville neighborhoods and their diversity, takes place this year at Cedar Hill Park in Madison. The one-day festival runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24.
“We want to showcase all that the Madison community has to offer, including the music, food and fellowship with neighbors,” said Jim Hawk, executive director of Neighbor To Neighbor, which hosts the annual event.
More than 60 community partners and vendors have signed on for what promises to be a full day of fun events, starting with the Good Neighbor Parade at 10 a.m., which this year features health-care workers and first responders as Grand Marshals.
Music takes place 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Front Porch stage, with performances from The Farmer & Adele, Mariachi Olimpico, Erin McLendon & The Hellcats, and DJ Moe Bass.
The Fun Zone, also open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., features lots of fun family activities, including corn hole, bounce houses, balloon animals, face painting and more. For older festival goers, confidential paper shredding will be offered by AARP of Tennessee “until the truck is full.” Activities will also be hosted by the Tennessee Titans, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Nashville Fire Department, Metropolitan Police Department, Walk Bike Nashville and many more.
